Canada Summer Jobs 2023 | Call for Applications
Hire youth next summer! Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) provides wage subsidies to employers for not-for-profits, the public and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

The CSJ 2023 employer application period is now open until January 12, 2023, at 11:59am PST.

Help Shape Recovery Planning: Compensation Survey Now Open
A new survey is underway to inform a compensation study for the Canadian tourism and hospitality sector. The aim is to get a comprehensive picture of how tourism business operators think about compensation within the context of COVID-19 recovery and the ongoing labour crunch affecting the sector.
BC Gov Releases COVID-19 Lessons Learned Report
Last week, the BC Government announced the results of an independent review and public consultation on the government’s operational response to the COVID-19 pandemic to better inform preparations and responses to future emergencies.

Updated Emergency Messaging Guidance is Now Available
Destination BC has updated Emergency Messaging Guidance document for BC's tourism industry with seasonal information. The November 2022 document will help you navigate questions, mitigate visitor concerns, and manage perceptions during emergencies.

Basit Chaudhry | Controller at True Key Hotels & Resorts
Congratulations to Basit Chaudhry, who has been appointed to the position of controller at True Key Hotels & Resorts Ltd., becoming the company's principal accounting officer. A well-respected leader, Basit has held many notable positions, including director of finance and IT support at the Hyatt Regency Calgary, and director of finance and business support at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, among other roles.

TIAC Announces 2022 Canadian Tourism Awards Winners
Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) annual Canadian Tourism Awards took place last week and nine winners were honoured! Congrats to all recipients including BC-based operators, Eagle Wing Tours (Air Transat Sustainable Tourism Award), and ERTCU Travel Group (Small or Medium-Sized Business of the Year Award.)
