Academic director's visit to India sparks collaborative endeavors

Academic director for the India Gateway, Jay Anand, William H. Davis Chair and Dean’s Distinguished Professor of Strategy at the Fisher College of Business, reflected on his trip to India to meet with a wide range of new and existing stakeholders spanning public, private and quasi-private stakeholders. Discussions spanned a wide spectrum of research and innovation areas, from leveraging health research to exploring partnerships in semiconductor technology.

India featured in 2023 International Photography Exhibition

Images and photographers from India are featured prominently in the 2023 International Photography Exhibition. A staff member, Ryan Staples, captured "Udaipur Women" and earned 2nd Place in the People Category. A faculty member from India, Ranjith Kumar Abhinavam captured "Pathos" and won the People's Choice Award in the People Category. A graduate student from India, Harish Moni Prakash earned Honorable Mention in the People Category for his "Untitled" photo captured in Vellayani Kayal, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Second Place and People's Choice in the Arts & Culture Category went to a visiting scholar from India, Manoj Patil for "Traditional farming," pictured above.

Fall recruitment season highlights

The India Gateway met and interacted with over 2,000 prospective students, parents, and high school counselors during the fall recruitment season. The 25 high school visits included fairs in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Dehradun, Coimbatore, Ooty, and Kodaikanal and school systems such as The Doon School, Dehli Public School Society and Oberoi International School.

Wexner Medical Center initiates collaboration with King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Health Sciences Center for Global Health are exploring training and collaboration opportunities with the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital in Mumbai, India. One of the advantages of this partnership will be the sharing of clinical sites internationally with Ohio State students and residents.

Fisher continues to broaden the scope of engagements in India

Aravind Chandrasekaran travelled to India in October to expand the scope of partnerships the Fisher College of Business maintains with local businesses. He met with partners at Tata Motors and Mahindra, including a session withg Mahindra’s manufacturing plant department heads at Nasik. In Mumbai, he delivered a session on “Creating a Culture of Innovation and Learning” at Shreyans Prasad Jain Institute of Management and Research.

Alumni Club of South India wins “Outstanding Club of the Year” title

The Alumni Club of South India achieved “Scarlet” status, the highest level achievable, and was also recognized as an Outstanding Club of the Year 2023 by the Ohio State University Alumni Association – a special achievement for the first full year of the club. The club hosted professional networking, health and fitness, special interest groups, game watches, student programming, and community service events.
