Bolstering Communities Through Diverse Initiatives Across the Southeast

GT Innovators Win Grants to Further Community Impact


The Southeast Crescent Regional Commission has awarded the Partnership a State Economic Infrastructure Development grant to expand its Summer Internship Program, offering new opportunities in 15 economically distressed counties across Georgia. Additionally, the Center for Economic Development Research received a grant to support its Certified Economic Development Ready Communities (CEDRC™) program.

Georgia Cities Showcase Technological Gamechangers


The Partnership, Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Georgia Municipal Association joined forces to showcase Georgia communities advancing technology to improve the human condition. Here, the Mayors of Woodstock and Warner Robins, alongside representatives of the Atlanta Beltline and Peachtree Corners shared incredible updates on their award-winning community research projects at this ground-breaking event.

Destination: Regional Collaboration and Innovation


The PIN Leaders Program held its two-day ecosystem tour where the 2024 program cohort visited some of Atlanta's key entrepreneurial ecosystem builders to learn and share insights from across the region. Special thanks to the ecosystem hosts that collectively sparked ideation for the teams to utilize in their entrepreneurial ecosystem projects, including the Center for Civic Innovation, Atlanta Tech Village - South Downtown, Portal Innovations at Science Square, Central Atlanta Progress and Atlanta Emerging Markets, Inc.

Mini City Expands


Mini City, an Economic Opportunity 2022 grant winner, was awarded New Growth Innovation Network's Advancing Economic Mobility Initiative grant and technical assistance, funded through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This funding will further Mini City's efforts in using smart technology to provide support to those at risk or currently experiencing homelessness.

Inclusive Regional Leadership


The Partnership's Economic Opportunity Manager, Jamal Lewis, was selected to the Atlanta Regional Commission’s 2024 Regional Leadership Institute (RLI) cohort. This year, the RLI program selected 57 leaders from across Metro Atlanta to explore real-world planning and policy throughout the region. Congratulations, Jamal, on this major accomplishment!
