Indiana Market Update from IAR
2022 wrapped with a move into a more balanced market, but tight inventory continued to favor sellers
Indiana outperformed a brutal national climate for housing.
- Indiana’s 88,821 existing home sales in 2022 are 11% below 2021’s record-setting pace and just 1.7% below 2019, a strong pre-pandemic year for Indiana real estate.
- Indiana fared better than the nation as a whole: U.S. home sales plummeted more than 16% in 2022 from 2021 according to estimates from NAR, finishing 4% below 2019.
