Founder's Dinner 2024
NYMC is delighted to announce its 2024 Founder's Dinner on September 26, at the Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle, New York, honoring Robert W. Amler, M.D., M.M.S., M.B.A., FAAP, FACPM, SHSP dean, vice president for government affairs, and professor of public health, pediatrics, and of environmental health sciences; Sherlita Amler, M.D., M.S., Ed.S., R.N., FAAP, C.E.M., clinical associate professor of pediatrics, adjunct professor of public health, senior fellow in the Center for Disaster Medicine, and commissioner of health for Westchester County; and Edward Chew, M.D. '03, F.A.C.E.P., chief executive officer for Physician Affiliate Group of New York, chief of emergency medicine and deputy chief medical officer of Harlem Hospital, assistant clinical professor of emergency medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, NYMC Board of Advisors, and honorary surgeon for the New York Police Department. The funding from the event contributes to scholarships and key initiatives, furthering NYMC's commitment to educating the next generation of physicians and health care providers, as well as supporting life-saving biomedical research.

NYMC Receives $900,000 HECap Award
NYMC has been awarded $900,000 from New York State for the expansion and improvement of the Center for Disaster Medicine at 7 Dana Road and the Physical Therapy Clinical Skills Facility in the School of Health Sciences and Practice.

NYMC and TU Hosts “Ninety Minutes: The Medical Magazine of the Web”
Join NYMC and TU on July 11 at 12:30 p.m. for another installment of Ninety Minutes: The Medical Magazine of the Web. Our faculty experts will cover essential topics including pneumococcal pneumonia vaccines, hearing aid testing, prostate-specific antigen tests, transitioning from a pediatrician to an adult physician, and specialty running shoes. The session will be followed by a Q&A where you can get all your questions answered. CME credits available upon request.

As if medical school wasn’t demanding enough, Nadia Ambarsom, SOM Class of 2026, is also an aspiring entrepreneur who recently earned second place in the New York Business Plan Competition for the New York City region and placed in the top ten in New York State for her product BioGlam.
