NYMC Hosts 10th Annual Drs. Gabor and Harriette Kaley Endowed Lecture


The 10th Annual Drs. Gabor and Harriette Kaley Endowed Lecture took place in the Chouake Auditorium on April 12, featuring keynote speaker Marilyn J. Cipolla, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering and professor of neurological sciences at Larner College of Medicine at University of Vermont. Dr. Cipolla delivered an engaging lecture titled, “Vascular Biology in Health and Disease across the Lifespan.”

NYMC Hosts Stellar Partial Solar Eclipse Watch Party


Hundreds of students, faculty, and staff gathered outside the MEC for the Partial Solar Eclipse Watch Party hosted by The Phillip Capozzi, M.D., Library. The campus had a clear view of 90 percent of the eclipse.

Ashley Chory's Path to Global Adolescent Health


Ashley Chory, B.S. M.P.H., who recently defended her dissertation in the Dr.P.H. program, is the senior program manager of Global Youth Health Programs at the Arnhold Institute for Global Health in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She works globally to implement public health initiatives that support adolescents.

Miriam Katz, M.P.H., Shares Her Research on Digital Hypertension Management Tools


Miriam Katz, M.P.H., SOM Class of 2025, explains how digital health solutions in hypertension management have the potential to bridge the longstanding gap in health outcomes associated with socioeconomic diversity. Her work was published in JAMA Network Open.

ACCOLADE

Tai M. Lee. Jr., NRP, EMT-T, CIC/RF, MEP, left, assistant director of the Center for Disaster Medicine, was invited to participate in Dutchess County's initiative to bring together law enforcement, fire service, EMS, and emergency management trainers from throughout the region on April 8 – 11 to learn the concepts and principles of operating as a team in the warm zone of an active shooter/hostile event and test through various scenarios. The participants will then share this training within their agencies as indirect trainers for Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education, a nationally recognized center for emergency preparedness and response training (LSU NCBRT/ACE).
