This Thursday, there will be a virtual information session to answer questions about the new Foundations of Lutheran Teaching (FLT) program, which will launch in the Fall of 2024.

FLT seeks to support and equip school professionals for ministry in Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) schools. The program offers five asynchronous online courses, each spanning eight weeks and are designed for working school professionals to accommodate their busy schedules, and is highly recommended for Early Childhood Directors or Administrators to help integrate faith in the classrooms.

School Spotlight - St. John's Lutheran School, Napa, California

St. John's Lutheran School has been serving the Napa community since 1938 as a ministry of St. John's Lutheran Church, which was founded in 1907.

Currently, St. John's has an enrollment of 294 students in Preschool through 8th grade (65 in Preschool). The current Lead Pastor, Mike Schmid, has been at St. John's since 1998. Principal Christy Wood arrived at St. John's in 2020 and EC Director Joy Dahl began as Director in 2021. One of the unique aspects of St. John's is the number of teachers who are former students, including the Preschool Director, the Kindergarten Aide, the second grade teacher, the fifth grade teacher, and the sixth grade teacher.

St. John's is recognized by most people in the Napa Valley as the "school of choice" for families who want a quality private Christian education! May God bless the continued ministry of St. John's Lutheran School.
