As summer starts winding down, I'm struck by how quickly the season flies by. I recently returned from an enchanting trip to Austria, and I'm excited to share some highlights with you.


My latest adventure took me to Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, a gem nestled in the Austrian Alps. The atmosphere exudes elegance and sophistication! The warm, personal welcome, breathtaking views of Lake Fuschl, and the refined luxury of the rooms create an experience that is nothing short of magical.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl

Originally built in 1461 as a hunting lodge for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg, Schloss Fuschl has been the backdrop for hunts and court gatherings for over three centuries. It transformed into a luxury hotel in 1947 and now offers 98 guestrooms, including 42 suites and six chalets. You can enjoy guided fishing excursions on the lake, forest foraging with an expert herbalist, and local-led cooking demonstrations in nearby alpine huts. The property also boasts a bespoke Asaya Spa and the Schloss Fuschl See Club, a leisure beach club with direct access to the water.


For wine lovers, the rustic Vinothek and Terrace offer a cozy space to enjoy Austrian wines paired with hearty meals prepared at the kitchen counter. Dining options include the Schloss Restaurant, which celebrates the diverse flavors of the region with a selection of over 1,400 wines; Seeterrasse for all-day dining; the Schloss Bar; the Whisky Room with a selection of dark spirits, schnapps, and wines; Sisi Tee Salon for afternoon tea; and Schloss Fuschl See Club with seafood and live entertainment.

The 16,145-square-foot Asaya Spa offers an array of wellness experiences, featuring indoor and outdoor infinity pools, three saunas, a steam bath, and eight treatment rooms. Additional facilities include a fitness center and hair salon. Rosewood Schloss Fuschl also offers 2-3 day retreats centered on biohacking, dynamic aging, and holistic well-being.


Curated experiences at Rosewood Schloss Fuschl include private after-hours tours of local museums with private concerts, hot air balloon excursions over the Alps, dirndl-making workshops, guided hikes, stargazing sessions, eco-friendly boating, and excursions with a local master fisherman. The resort also immerses guests in the cultural heritage of the Salzkammergut region, with standout experiences like the Austrian umbrella atelier excursion at the Kirchtag Umbrella Store and Workshop, established in 1903.

Traveling to Schloss Fuschl from Vienna

Take a scenic 2.5-hour train ride from Vienna to Salzburg with a few quick stops along the way. Upon arrival, the private driver will greet you, handle your baggage, and whisk you away in a Mercedes E-Class for a quick 20-minute drive to Lake Fuschl and the Rosewood Schloss Fuschl.
