Triple Crown: Joy & Love to God, Neighbor, and Ourselves
Saturday, October 24 Online
Sunday, October 25, 9 am - Sanctuary
solar panel installation on sanctuary roof.
QUICK FACTS ABOUT OUR SOLAR INSTALLATION:
Number of Panels: 183 (129 on Education wing, 54 on Sanctuary)
System Size (DC): 65.7
Expected First Year Production: 86,330 Kwh
SOLAR IS ON!
On a particularly cold and cloudy October day (Wednesday, October 21), with final Ameren meter updates in place, the Solar PV generation system switched to operational. The power collected is not "free," since we are in a power generating purchase agreement with Hawk-Attollo, who installed the equipment at no cost to us. We will see a reduction in our fees and utility taxes first, and the rate is slightly cheaper than grid rates, and will increase slower than anticipated grid rates. We will be able to purchase the system in seven years, at a reduced cost. The system will operate for the next forty years. Plans are being put together for a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to be held soon.
ENTRUST SERMON SERIES
NOVEMBER 2020
The life and health of the church is dependent on the commitments and responsibilities of its members. When everyone sees themselves as needed, responsible, and contributing, then amazing transformations can happen. The call to faithful service is not always easy to respond to, but all things are possible when we realize how much God loves us and trusts the church to care for the world.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
  • WHY IS OUR PATCH OPENING SO LATE IN SEASON? COVID-19 and a logistical error in contacting interest made for late delivery.
  • ARE WE EXPECTED TO HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT WITH LESS TIME? No. It will be half the amount of last year due to late arrival.
  • CAN WE LEGALLY OPERATE? Yes. Masks must be worn and hand sanitizer available. Pumpkin patches are allowed under Illinois Department of Health regulations.
  • HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT TO CHARGE? ARE THERE DISCOUNTS? A set of models will be included with delivery disclosing prices, and you simply match a customer's purchase with the model. THERE ARE NO DISCOUNTS, EITHER GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL.
THE PUMPKINS HAVE ARRIVED
The rescheduled pumpkins arrived on Monday, October 19 around 10 am, and were unloaded by our youth group and youth parents at 2 pm.

The youth group has been pricing and sorting the inventory each afternoon, with a majority of pumpkins being priced $15 or less.

This year's sales drive is one week shorter than last year's, and rain has stopped sales two of the first three evenings. As of Wednesday, sales were over $100 since Monday afternoon.

Our pumpkin patch will operate Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, weather permitting
