The 1841 Society

Honoring the Past, Investing in the Future

PLANNED GIVING PARISH FORUM

– 9:30 A.M. ON SUNDAY JUNE 16TH

Planned or Legacy Giving is open to all parishioners who want to invest in the future of St. John’s Church. To encourage and foster planned giving to St John’s, the Wardens and Vestry of St. John’s Church established the 1841 Society for all parishioners who share the belief in the church’s mission and who demonstrate a confidence in the church’s present and future by including St. John’s Church in their estate plans or by making deferred gifts to the church. Members and others who advise the church in writing that they have included St. John’s Church in their estate plans become members of the 1841 Society. The most rewarding benefit of membership is the satisfaction derived from making an impactful contribution to our church’s future.

There are numerous ways of structuring a planned gift, each with its advantages and benefits for the giver and the receiver. To learn something about these and what methods might be the best fit for you, please plan to join us Sunday, June 16th, at 9:30 a.m. in the Ralston Room (Cranmer Hall Third Floor) for an informational Parish Forum about Planned Giving, led by Mark Howard of the Howard Financial Group and Amy Henderson with Simpson Law, PC.

Please feel free to speak to any members of the Planned Giving Committee: Co-Chairs Connie McCay and Brian Culver, Past-Chair Rusty Ross, Dolly Chisholm, Scott Howard, Rick Wright, Rob Sparks, and Bishop Paul Lambert.

Art Notes

The image of Lazarus outside the banquet at the top of this Friday's newsletter is a wood-etching after Sir John Everett Millais, by the Dalziel Brothers (1864). This work is part of a series of twenty New Testamant parables and is held in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. For more information, click here.
