July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month is observed each July to shine a light on the unique struggles that racial and ethnic minority communities face regarding mental illness.

Those in racial/ethnic, gender, and sexual minority groups often suffer from poor mental health outcomes due to multiple factors including inaccessibility of high-quality mental health care services, cultural stigma surrounding mental health care, discrimination, and overall lack of awareness about mental health, according to the American Psychiatric Association
August Features an Array of Health and Cultural Observances
Take time in August to:

  • Promote the importance of childhood and adult Immunizations.
  • Heighten awareness about staying safe in the sun.
  • Celebrate women -- and women's Equality Day.
  • Shine a light on overdose as the silent killer it is.
