Two EHS teachers named Edina Chamber Teacher of the Year
|
|
The Edina Chamber of Commerce presented Nickie McKeever and Betsy Nimmo, Edina High School social studies teachers, with the Teacher of the Year award for 2017 Tuesday morning in the school’s media center. Students, family and members of the Chamber greeted Nimmo and McKeever with a shout of congratulations as they arrived.

TONIGHT: South View 8th grade band premiers commissioned piece
|
|
Concert goers will hear a story of 16th century free slaves in Colombia, South America, told through music tonight when the South View 8th grade band premiers a piece written especially for them. With a grant from the Edina Education Fund, band director Charles Weise commissioned music from composer Victoriano Valencia for his students with the idea of exposing them to sounds from another culture and stretching their musical abilities.

Washington Post ranks EHS among 'Most Challenging' high schools
|
|
Edina High School has again been named to the Washington Post’s annual Most Challenging High Schools in the Nation list. Just 12 percent of the country’s approximately 22,000 public schools qualified for the ranking which was based on 2016 data. Nationally, EHS ranks in the top 2.5 percent, and is ranked fifth in Minnesota.

New easy link helps you update family contact information

Keeping your family contact information up-to-date will ensure that you receive important communications and information from your students’ schools and the school district. A new link makes it easier to update family contact information in the EdinaApps Portal.
This new access is live on the portal and will remain open through June. It will again be available in August and September. Read more

Board hears recommendation for activities fee increase

As part of the implementation of the district’s budget adjustment plan, the School Board heard a recommendation from administration at its May 15 meeting to increase fees for Edina High School (EHS) activities, athletics and fine arts for the 2017-18 school year.
