Brian O'Malley

Dear Beloved Community of Trinity,

I am sad to report that Brian O’Malley died on Tuesday evening September 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. He had suffered a rapid decline the past few weeks, after an unexpected brain cancer diagnosis.

Brian’s service to the parish was significant and notable. Before joining the staff as the bookkeeper, Brian had served on the Vestry, as Stewardship Chair, and was a long-standing usher. He served diligently as our Bookkeeper for over 12 years, retiring just last July. For all these things and for his life, we give thanks. May his soul and all the souls of the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

At this time, we do not have complete information about a memorial service, except that it is tentatively scheduled for late October. Trinity clergy and staff promise to keep you updated after planning is complete.

As we begin mourning this loss together, let us pray:

Almighty God, we remember before you today your faithful servant Brian; and we pray that, having opened to him the gates of larger life, you will receive him more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have faithfully served you in the past, he may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

And we also pray for all of Brian's family and friends:

Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of comfort: Deal graciously, we pray, with all who mourn; that, casting all their care on you, they may know the consolation of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
