If you are a snowbird or in case you missed it, the paper can be viewed online by clicking here. The paper will continue to arrive in the mail the first week of each month. Disaster Planning Workshop

-Getting Ready for the Season-

We are delighted to share the success of our recent Disaster Planning Workshop, held on April 10, 2024. The event garnered an exceptional turnout, indicative of our community's strong commitment to preparedness and safety.

As we gear up for the upcoming hurricane season, it is crucial to remain vigilant and proactive in our preparations. Experts predict a busy season ahead, reinforcing the importance of early planning and readiness.


Mark your calendars for our upcoming Disaster Planning Symposium on April 27,2024 at 9:30AM in the Veterans Theater.


Purpose:

  • Inform the unit owners regarding preparation and safety in the event of a severe storm or other disasters.


  • Inform residents regarding services (and suspension of services) during a disaster.


Representatives from several entities to include:

 

Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office, CERT, South Shore Hospital, Sun City Emergency Squad, Security Patrol, Samaritan Services, County Commissioner Mike Owen, TECO, and more.

April Volunteer of the Month

Roger Johnson has been a vital part of Kings Point for a decade. Residing in Idlewood. he's served as Vice President and been on its architectural committee for 8 years overseeing repairs and neighborhood aesthetics. Recently, he took on the role of President of KPW.


Roger is deeply involved in community clubs and activities. He's a director on the Pottery Club board, assisting with kilns and loading and unloading equipment. He is also a member of the archery and pickleball clubs, which are heavily involved in community volunteering. He shares his musical talent as the lead guitarist and a vocalist for the blues band, Down Home, performing at community events pro bono.


In addition, Roger taught line dancing to residents for two years, fostering social connections and fitness. His commitment to community service and leadership is evident in his diverse involvements. Roger Johnson truly embodies the spirit of community advocacy in Kings Point.


Congratulations, Roger, on your well-deserved recognition! Thank you for all your ongoing dedication to making Kings Point a better place for all.

Our community is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers serving in vital roles, such as the Sun City Center Emergency Squad, COA, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), Meals on Wheels and various other organizations and association boards. These individuals exemplify the essence of community service, working tirelessly to ensure the safety, well-being, and overall harmony of our neighborhood.


Beyond organizational roles, there are those extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference. Some volunteers initiate their own projects and organizations, addressing specific needs within our community. Others extend a helping hand to neighbors, especially during challenging times. From assisting those returning from the hospital to coordinating shifts for meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, these volunteers embody the true spirit of community care.


As we reflect on the invaluable contributions of these unsung heroes, it's crucial to recognize and celebrate their efforts. The Master Association proudly invites you to participate in the Volunteer of the Month program. This initiative aims to acknowledge and honor outstanding volunteers who live in Kings Point.


Consider nominating individuals who have made a significant impact through their selfless acts of kindness. The Volunteer of the Month program is a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for those who contribute to the well-being of our community.

Have an irrigation emergency after 5 PM? Call 1-866-263-3988

The Master Association has an afterhours answering service in place to handle calls related to irrigation emergencies after 5 PM. You can call the service directly at 866-263-3988. Calls that come in are immediately texted to the Master’s Water Team which consists of approximately 10 technicians and staff members who can remotely shut down the system within a few minutes. If there is an issue that cannot be resolved remotely, a technician is dispatched to the property. All afterhours emergency issues are investigated and scheduled for repair the following morning.


If you have an irrigation EMERGENCY (Mainline Break, Water is pouring into a dwelling, water is destroying property, or affecting the roadways) and its outside normal business hours call 1-866-263-3988. Please do not use the emergency number for NON-EMERGENCY irrigation issues. Please call 813-812-7559 and leave a message instead.
