Give & Gather for VOA Programs

Every meal matters. Especially when it comes to supporting those experiencing homelessness in our community. That is why we are thrilled to invite you to participate in Give & Gather, where dining out makes a difference! From April 22nd-27th, we have partnered with many of our favorite local restaurants to give back to our community.

When you dine at any of our participating eateries during this time, a portion of the proceeds will directly support VOA and its mission to make homelessness a memory of the past for those seeking our services.

By simply enjoying a meal with family and friends, you are helping us create a brighter future for those in need. Your support enables us to cater to our diverse demographic that lies within our twelve programs. Our goal is to witness these individuals not only achieve comfort and self-sustainability, but also move forward from the daily traumas they are experiencing.

Want to help? It’s easy, here’s how!

  • Mark your calendars during our campaign period: April 22nd-28th
  • Select your favorite participating restaurants from our amazing list of partners.
  • Enjoy a delicious meal knowing that a portion of your bill is not only supporting our cause, but your kindness supports the generous restaurants you have chosen as well.
  • Share and tag your dining experience on social media to spread the word and inspire others.

Your participation in our Give & Gather campaign is not merely about enjoying a fantastic meal, it is about providing real change in the lives of our neighbors facing hurdles we can only imagine. Together, we have meaningful impact and bring hope to those who need it most. We can be the change they so desperately need to survive.

Thank you for your generosity and dedication to dignity for all!

Feeding Hope House

Delicious and Nutritious Food Coordinated by the Best

Chicken gnocchi, minestrone soup, spaghetti, and an Easter meal with all the fixings are just a few menu items at our Hope House women's shelter. Dulcie and Lori (pictured to the left with a representative from 2nd Harvest) are the VOA (Volunteers of America) team that are devoted to ensuring shelter participants have three meals every day, accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions.

During just the first three weeks of March, they had planned, cooked, prepared, and served:

  • 689 breakfasts
  • 811 lunches
  • 883 dinners

A considerable amount of planning goes in to cooking for 80 women each day. Thanks to our partnership with Second Harvest, we can stretch our food budget and supplement our meals with the grocery staples they provide (pictured to the left is one of Hope House' storage shelves).

Second Harvest provides key bulk ingredients such as broth, rice, lentils, noodles, and so on. Additionally, without your investment in our new building and commercial grade kitchen facility, this would not be possible. We can now make sure any person who enters our shelters has a warm, nourishing meal.

Hooray to our amazing community!
