Letter from RiverTree Vision Leader, Jason Lantz
Dear RiverTree Jackson Family,
In an effort and desire for transparency, we must inform you of a serious situation regarding the Pastoral Leadership at RiverTree Jackson. This week, Pastor Jeremy and Pastor Leah were released from their staff roles due to significant moral failure.
We recognize that this will come as a shock, but please understand that it would not be appropriate for us to go into further detail in an effort to honor their families at this difficult time. We are committed to caring for you and our staff team, as well as for Jeremy and his family and Leah and her family.
While I do not doubt that this is the right course of action, I cannot overstate my personal sadness. I have worked alongside Leah for decades and Jeremy for the past four years and have called them not just co-workers, but friends. I am heartbroken and devastated as I am sure you are, but remain hopeful for a desire for reconciliation and healing.
We must trust God even in difficult times like this and link arms together as the body of Christ to remain united and humbly move forward with God’s help as we now enter an interim season at RiverTree Jackson.
RiverTree Jackson Sunday services and all of our ministries will proceed as usual and will continue to be a place of hope and love through our faith in Jesus. We have a solid team of leaders in place alongside the committed staff who deeply love you and this community. Inspirational worship and great teaching will continue through leaders from throughout the RiverTree Movement who know what it is like to persevere through times of disappointment and hardship moving us toward a deeper walk with Jesus through intentional prayer.
We will regularly communicate updates with you in the weeks ahead. We will share ways you can pray and help. We will share how the church is doing, how our staff and volunteer teams are stepping up, and what we are learning in this season as we humbly seek God’s wisdom and discernment. I ask all of us to use this opportunity to model grace and mercy alongside truth and accountability.
Please pray that God would bring about a fresh, new season of impact for His Kingdom for our church and this region.
