With record breaking cold weather arriving here are some tips to share with your clients, friends and others that you care for.

• For pipes under sinks/cabinets open the cabinet doors so that warm air can get to them.
• Let the water (hot and cold) slowly trickle out of the sinks to keep the water moving.
• Garden hoses should have already been removed, the water shut off and water drained from the bib.
• Heat tape is an option for pipes in crawl spaces that can be more vulnerable to freezing
• Dishwashers often have timers and we set ours to begin washing dishes during the night to help keep the water moving and the drains warmed by the discharge water.
• Make sure everyone in the home knows where the main water shut off valve is, just in case.
