Free Training on Addiction Response


All Rise is sharing a free training opportunity from the Addiction Policy Forum. Criminal Justice Responding to Addiction is a three-hour training designed to help justice professionals and organizations support their communities by increasing knowledge about addiction and developing response skills and strategies. The training is on Friday, July 26 from 11:00-2:00 Central, and a certificate for continuing education credit will be available. Register here!

 

Data Dives Webinar Series


The National Center for State Courts is launching a monthly Data Dives webinar series to help courts better understand evolving trends in state court data and provide information to improve court systems. The monthly series begins August 15 at 2:00 Central, with a focus on court statistics. Future webinars will explore topics such as mapping to identify barriers to legal services, data standards, collection and use of race and ethnicity data, and data governance.

 

The goal of the series is to develop a more data-literate court workforce, increase awareness of best practices in court data collection and use, and enhance court effectiveness. For a complete list of topics and to register for the series at ncsc.org/datadives.

 

Drug Testing and Wellness Considerations in Juvenile Treatment Courts


All Rise has released a new fact sheet titled Drug Testing and Wellness Considerations in Juvenile Treatment Courts, produced in collaboration with the Juvenile Treatment Court Project, the Center for Justice Innovation, and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. The fact sheet educates about key differences in drug testing youth in treatment court, adolescent-appropriate and person-centered practices, and the role of drug testing in determining progress in treatment court and testing best practices. Family Guide to Children’s Mental Health Services


The Health and Human Services Commission recently revised its Family Guide to Children’s Mental Health Services. The Guide explains the Texas Resilience and Recovery Model and includes introductory explanations on several topics, such as locating Local Mental Health and Behavioral Health Authorities, qualifications for and availability of  mental health services, co-occurring disorders, and further resources.
