Identifying Child Sexual Exploitation: A Judicial Discussion

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 12:0o p.m. – 1:15 p.m., the Office of the Texas Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team will present a free training and discussion opportunity for judges on the Commercial Sexual Exploitation Identification Tool (CSE-IT), a screening tool utilized to assess at-risk youth for child sexual exploitation.

This training will provide an overview of the CSE-IT, emphasizing its significance in identifying and supporting youth who may be victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The CSE-IT may be utilized by many child-serving individuals (i.e., CASA, Probation, etc.) and the training will familiarize judges with the tool to encourage more informed decision-making and appropriate interventions. Please note that this is not a full CSE-IT User Certification training; rather, it is an overview of the CSE-IT.

MCLE credit, Family Violence credit, and TBLS certification hours in the specialty field of Child Welfare Law are all pending. This training is open to judges only and will not be recorded in order to facilitate conversation and discussion. Early registration is encouraged, as this virtual offering is limited to the first 40 judges who sign up for this unique training opportunity.
