2024 Child Welfare Judges Conference Registration Now Open!

The Children’s Commission, in partnership with the Texas Center for the Judiciary (TCJ), will host the 17th Annual Child Welfare Judges Conference at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center in Georgetown, Texas on October 21-23, 2024. Registration for the conference is now open and the curriculum is tailored for judges who handle civil child welfare cases.

 

There is no registration fee to attend. Information regarding travel reimbursement is available upon registration. The conference curriculum will provide 14.25 hours of Continuing Judicial Education (CJE) and 13 hours of Family Violence (FV) credit. 

 

Topics at this year’s conference include:

  • How to attract and keep high quality legal representation;
  • The importance of engaging fathers in child welfare cases; and
  • A panel on Community Based Care with representatives from three Single Source Continuum Contractors.
