As a non-profit organization dedicated to making life easier for everyone living gluten-free, we thank you for being a loyal GFCO (Gluten-Free Certification Organization) customer and for appreciating the value of GFCO certification for your brand. With the ongoing supply chain disruptions and ingredient substitutions, GFCO-certified products have never been more appreciated in the eyes of the consumer.
Over the past six years, there has been significant growth in the gluten-free market and the demand for certification. Through this growth, GFCO has proudly maintained a modest fee structure, without a single price increase. As a program of the Gluten Intolerance Group, a non-profit organization, our operations are lean. Through the challenges over the last two years, we have proactively worked to reduce overhead costs while protecting the integrity of our certification on a global scale, enhancing customer service, improving systems, expanding food safety research, implementing product/laboratory testing, aiding clients through travel-restrictions, and supporting GFCO-certified products through consumer awareness campaigns.
Today, we are all affected by economic challenges. While GFCO makes every effort to keep our fees affordable, the Gluten Intolerance Group can no longer absorb the costs of GFCO’s standard of service at the price structure set in 2016. Therefore, effective January 1, 2023, there will be a new GFCO pricing structure in effect with a 10% increase in certification and licensing fees. This modest inflationary adjustment will ensure that GFCO will continue to support both your business and the safety of food for the ever-growing gluten-free community. As always, GFCO certification is competitively priced and our rates will remain flat, never applied by individual product SKU. This increase will be shown as a separate line item on your 2023 renewal invoice.
We thank you for your business and we look forward to your partnership in the future.
