Traffic Flow Updates

Dear CVCA Community,

Thank you for your patience as we finished our impact study during the first full week of school with everyone now back on campus. The 90-day construction project on Steels Corners has greatly impacted and increased the northbound traffic on Wyoga Lake Road and has us looking at possible solutions to alleviate the congestion.

After speaking with County officials, the local police department, and our friends at Walsh, we are pleased to announce some changes we hope will make a difference.

  • The timing of the light at the corner of Steels Corners and Wyoga Lake Road has been recalibrated. It will now have a longer pass time for north and southbound traffic. We believe this will help relieve some of the afterschool traffic pressure on Wyoga Lake Road.
  • We have commissioned Cuyahoga Falls and County Police to place a paid officer on the corner of Seasons and Wyoga Lake Road. This is an extra duty for local officers that must be signed up for (not assigned), but we are hopeful the duty will be filled daily from 2:35 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. until the Steels Corners construction is completed.
  • High school students who have a first or last-period PRT have the option of late arrival or early dismissal. HERE are more details if your student is interested in this particular option.

CVCA Map for Traffic Flow

The traffic flow map below is aimed at getting cars off Wyoga Lake Road before and after school.

  1. Have your students exit and enter the car as quickly as possible.
  2. Allow a half-car length of space between cars to give enough room for others to maneuver and exit.
  3. If you are a middle school family, please consider the new drop-off area (at the north end of campus behind the school) both before and after school. We understand a new family (or 6th-grade families) would want to stay at the traditional middle school entrance. However, there is ample space in the morning and after school for easy drop-off/pick-up by utilizing this back-of-school location and entering the school at the athletic entrance, which is steps away from the middle school.
  4. Notice the front and back sets of lanes in front of the Learning Commons – one closest to the building and a second set of rows close to the road. Please utilize both lanes to help get more cars off Wyoga Lake Road and into our parking lot for pick-up. Remember to allow space for other cars to exit.

Thank you again for your patience, especially as we work to navigate the traffic issue during the Steels Corners construction project. Please continue to show grace with other drivers, and please drive carefully and safely as you are dropping off and picking up your student.
