This is an example of one of our “See Your Impact” events created for our members to receive a personalized tour from leaders of agencies who received an Impact Grant. Many people mention how much more information they’ve learned from these events by getting a close view of projects and programs.

Quarterly updates from our Merit grant fund recipients, Kiwanis and the Martin County Library Foundation prove how collective giving can make a huge impact to an organization’s mission.

Please take a moment to visit https://martindigitalhistory.org/ to explore the exciting work being done to interpret relevant digital content reflective of Martin County. The mission of Martin Digital History (MDH) is to encourage the appreciation of Martin County’s unique history by collaborating with community members and local organizations to collect, present, and interpret relevant digital content.

Kiwanis volunteers have been busy at work with the new addition to the Kiwanis playground located on Colorado Boulevard in downtown Stuart. Destination Playground for older children to have age appropriate, exciting play structures is underway. Read more about this at https://kiwanisclubofstuart.org/ Since a picture is worth a thousand words, please see these images and stop by the park to see progress in action.

The Impact100 Martin Grant Cycle has begun with exciting evolvement! We have received more Letters of Intent (LOI) than ever before! Thirty-two local nonprofits have submitted an LOI, which is a brief application in which we learn of the proposed project/program along with a budget. During the month of January, our grant committee members review LOIs for adherence to our Grant Guidelines and invite agencies with an acceptable project/program to submit a full application.

Why do we receive more Letters of Intent than ever before? YOU reaching out to contacts in our community, speaking to local nonprofits, sharing your excitement about the difference an Impact Grant can do for our community. Thank you!

We also wish to recognize the Visioning Team members: Nancy Wong, Betsy Johnson, Tracy Sorzano, and Rosalia Kung. In teams of two members, they personally met with 18 agencies since late November, supporting understanding of the grant process, procedures and timeline.

Thank you to our Visioning Team!

We are excited to announce that we have 291 members as of December 31st! What a great way to bring in the New Year! We are so thankful for all of you who have renewed, joined, and referred a friend who joined last year!

We are 109 members away from hitting 400 members and granting four $100,000 grants with two months to go. Our last day for membership is February 29th. If you haven’t renewed yet, please do so either on our website https://www.impact100martin.org/ or mailing in the membership form.

Book Club

Our next Book Club will be with Impact100 Founder Wendy Steele discussing her book, Invitation to Impact: Lighting the Path to Community Transformation.

Monday, February 5, 2024 5:30 to 7:00 pm via Zoom

Members are encouraged to host Zoom viewings in their homes and invite other Impact100 members from your community to join in!

We will send out the Zoom link the week before the meeting.

In Invitation to Impact: Lighting the Path to Community Transformation, philanthropist Wendy Steele tells the inspiring story of Impact100—from its birth as an idea jotted in a spiral notebook to its continued growth as an international organization dedicated to helping women transform the communities they live in.

A book about making an impact, the power of generosity, collective action, and so much more, Invitation to Impact details the design and growth of Impact100, as well as the mistakes and pitfalls Wendy overcame along the way. Through the experiences Wendy shares, Invitation to Impact is a book that makes clear the impact giving can make when we all accept the invitation.

Thank you for supporting the important work of Impact100. All proceeds from the purchase of Invitation to Impact are donated to Impact100 Global to support Impact100 chapters, members, and leaders around the world.

Trolley Tour of Hobe Sound Murals

Ride, Relax, Recreation & Rapport over Community Arts!

Sunday, March 10, 2024

11:00am - 3:00pm

$65 per person includes: Trolley Tour & Brochure Map, Choice of 3 lunch options plus a beverage & dessert, Tips, and all Mural Painting Supplies & Experience.

Join in for an enjoyable excursion to Hobe Sound to view some of their outdoor gallery of 25+ mural walls. Many have been created by the local non-profit Landmark Arts, Inc., “Creating Community Culture”.  (an organization spearheaded by one of our Impact100 Members – professional artist & tour guide, Nadia Utto)

This project has received a mARTies Award and is featured in the State’s designated Florida Mural Trail. We’ll hear about the history of murals as a cross-cultural art form and the stories behind these local ones as well as looking for the hidden design element in each wall! Additionally, we will have an especially unique opportunity to become a mural artist by adding our own painterly touch to a community mural!

Enjoy an air-conditioned ride on a Molly’s Trolley around the main streets of Hobe Sound, staying on board / or hopping on & off to view the murals up close. At the tours’ conclusion, we will then enjoy a leisurely lunch crafted just for us at the new Taste Restaurant location, while painting on the covered patio mural.

All sales are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend tickets are transferable, so feel free to give your unused ticket to someone else.

Kelly McIntyre’s passion for volunteering began in 1973 when she was involved in a YMCA Jr. Leaders Program in her hometown of Auburn, IN. Since there were only 2 employees, the teen volunteers allowed the Y to increase programing and classes offered for elementary aged children. With three children just 3 ½ years apart, Kelly initially volunteered with the Martin County School District. Once her children were older she worked a few years substitute teaching, but was excited to work for United Way. Those early years guided Kelly to her professional career in non-profit volunteer management where she spent more than 22 years as volunteer manager for local non-profits in Martin County.

Her work with United Way, American Red Cross, House of Hope and Cleveland Clinic Martin Health taught her a great deal about our non-profit agencies.

Kelly joined Impact100 Martin in November 2022 after attending the kickoff as a guest of Sue Whittington. She was drawn to the mission and says it was like drinking the Kool-Aid for her. The idea that her $1100 would go towards providing non-profit programs a grant for $100,000 was exciting. Kelly immediately joined the Grants Committee, since the grants are what drew her to the organization. She currently serves as Grants Committee Co-Chair, alongside Joan Gibbons. As Grants Co-Chair, Kelly also serves on the Board of Directors. Kelly says another benefit of joining has been to reconnect with friends like Joan and to meet so many amazing and committed new people as well!

Kelly has been honored to be nominated for Martin County School District Volunteer of the Year, Woman of Distinction, and the JC Penney Golden Rule Award. In the past she served as an Elder at Palm City Presbyterian Church, along with a variety of other committees and a board member for the CHARACTER COUNTS! Program.

Kelly loves being involved with women who care about the community and know their collective giving provides transformational grants to non-profits. Kelly began asking friends to join Impact100. In the last several months, she has referred 6 new members. Imagine if every person in Impact100 Martin recruited just one new member. We would be able to provide more grants to change lives and allow the non-profits to better serve those who need it most.

Arati Hammond, a Realtor on the Treasure Coast since 2002, is a passionate philanthropist and Founding Member of Impact 100 Martin. Arati has been serving on the Grants Committee since its inception, was the Membership Co-Chair for the first three years, and has served as Grantee Liaison for two years. She became a devoted member and sponsor of Impact 100 Martin when she learned of the power of collective giving and the power of ONE WOMAN ONE VOTE!

Besides her extensive involvement with Impact 100 Martin, Arati supports several local nonprofits as Board Member for The United Way of Martin County, and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Martin County.

Arati has been a top producer in real estate and what she is most proud of is that nearly 90% of all new business is through referrals, word-of-mouth, and repeat clients. She offers her clients complete total dedication and professionalism. She has her fingers on the pulse of the local market and therefore she can counsel her clients properly to make informed decisions when it comes to selling or buying real estate – whether it be for a primary residence, secondary residence, or investment purpose. “Together we can make an Impactful Difference. Collectively we will make Transformational Change.”
