Dear members and friends:
Our Season Seven Kickoff really set the tone for an exciting new year, didn’t it? There was so much energy in the room, enthusiasm for continued growth and curiosity about the impact we are making in Martin County. When I meet with members, the most frequent questions I hear are about how our grants are making an impact and how to learn more about the nonprofits in Martin County.
We are thrilled to announce a new major event on Saturday, February 3rd from noon-3pm that will help answer those questions. For the first time ever, we are bringing all recipients of Impact100 Martin Grants – both Impact Grants and Merit Awards – all together in one place. Over the course of a few hours, you can tour the booths of nearly two dozen nonprofits to learn how our grants are making a difference.
The nonprofits will talk specifically about the project we funded and in some cases you can literally “kick the tires.” Several of our Impact Grants have been for mobile units, allowing nonprofits to take their services into the local community. You will have an opportunity to tour these mobile units and see for yourself how they work. Please take a minute to read the first article in this month’s newsletter to get all the details on how to participate.
Wouldn’t it be fun to show off your involvement in Impact100 Martin to your spouse/significant other, children, grandchildren, friends, co-workers, and neighbors? This is a free event, open to anyone in the community and all are welcome! You can even tour the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast as part of the event. We will be holding the event at Indian Riverside Park as their guests.
I can’t wait to see you there and celebrate what 1.4 million dollars worth of love looks like!
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season!

With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes, | Maureen Cotter, President
On Saturday, February 3, 2024, from noon to 3pm we have invited 21 local nonprofits to participate in a Grant Recipients Showcase at Indian Riverside Park next to the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast.
These organizations have all benefited from the generosity of Impact100 Martin members by receiving a portion of the $1.4 million we have granted in our first six years. This includes nonprofits who received funding in 2020 through Martin County’s COVID-19 Consortium.
This is an opportunity for the recipients to showcase the projects that have been funded by Impact100 Martin and for members and the community to see how these projects have evolved and are now making an impact right here in Martin County.
Come see the Project LIFT “Welding on Wheels,” the Martin County Police Athletic League “Mobile PAL,” the House of Hope “Traveling Nutrition Education Garden,” the Martin County Healthy Start “Diaper Van,” and see their progress on the “MOM Mobile”. All made possible with funds from Impact100 Martin.
This is a free event and a community celebration, so bring your friends, family, and prospective members. Food will be available for purchase, so we ask that you register in advance, so we have an idea of attendance. In January, registration will open for tours of the mobile units.
We hope you join us to see first-hand how your membership in Impact100 Martin is changing the face of Martin County!

We need volunteers to work with nonprofits on their storyboards and to help staff their tent on the day of the Showcase. Click here if you are willing to help. A member of our planning team will call you to discuss your role.

On Wednesday, November 15th, the Impact100 Martin Grants Committee held their first meeting. Ladies shared goals for this grant cycle and reviewed the schedule and training opportunities for committee members. All committee members are current Impact100 Martin members, receive training on the evaluation of letters of intent and full applications and sign conflict of interest and confidentiality agreements. They each take the fiduciary responsibility seriously and will ensure quality finalists are brought forward
for our entire membership to hear from and vote upon April 18, 2024, at the Grant Awards Celebration.
With the support of The Community Foundation of Martin St Lucie, the application process has begun! The first step is to submit a Letter of Intent. Please share the opportunity of a $100,000 grant with agencies you know, so we can potentially provide a grant in each of the five focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family, and Health & Wellness.
Visioning is wrapping up sessions with nonprofits this month with over a dozen agencies reaching out for meetings with the team! Many thanks to Nancy Wong, Betsy Johnson, Tracy Sorzano and Rosalia Kung for their leadership with this new resource for our community. Letters of Intent are due by January 10, 2024; then the Grants Committee begins reviewing for adherence to our guidelines and mission. Stay tuned for more information as we progress deeper into the grant cycle. Remember that you can find and share information on the process at www.impact100martin.org/grants
Several members joined Impact100 founder Wendy Steele last month to visit three agencies who received an Impact Grant. Much thanks to Rob Ranieri of House of Hope, Lori Sang of Little Lights Dentistry and Bob Zaccheo of Project LIFT for hosting the visits. It’s amazing and rewarding to see the growth of each agency who have extended their work throughout our community and beyond … quite the ripple effect!

In Invitation to Impact: Lighting the Path to Community Transformation, philanthropist Wendy Steele tells the inspiring story of Impact100—from its birth as an idea jotted in a spiral notebook to its continued growth as an international organization dedicated to helping women transform the communities they live in.
A book about making an impact, the power of generosity, collective action, and so much more, Invitation to Impact details the design and growth of Impact100, as well as the mistakes and pitfalls Wendy overcame along the way. Through the experiences Wendy shares, Invitation to Impact is a book that makes clear the impact giving can make when we all accept the invitation.
Thank you for supporting the important work of Impact100. All proceeds from the purchase of Invitation to Impact are donated to Impact100 Global to support Impact100 chapters, members, and leaders around the world.

Brigite Babine is a Sr. Manager for a global technology company and a recent graduate of Keiser Flagship School of Golf receiving an Associates of Science in Golf Management degree, accomplishing a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Through her long friendship with Impact100 member Sue Whittington, Brigite has been exposed to several nonprofits in the community where her passion to volunteer was ignited. She volunteers her time, skills and talents for various nonprofits in the community.
During her first Impact100 Martin grant’s award ceremony, Brigite was so moved by the finalists and the needs of Martin County, that she made a commitment to be a yearly member with other incredible women to be change makers in our community.
Brigite is an Audio Engineer for her church (and husband), an avid tennis player and golfer, enjoys riding her bike and game for any adventure that comes her way.
This year Brigite was honored and humbled to receive the Paul Harris Fellow “Service above Self” award from the Rotary Club of Stuart-Sunrise and a House of Hope “Hope Award”. She was also featured in an article for the LPGA Women’s Network “Brigite Babine’s unexpected journey to the game of golf.”
She leaves us with this thought: “Together we can make an impact!”
