Sixth-Grade Retreat

Dear Parents/Guardians and Sixth-Grade Students,

There is excitement at CVCA as the faculty and staff are busy preparing for our new sixth graders! We will start the school year with our sixth-grade retreat, IGNITION, at Camp Carl on August 12-13, 2024. We welcome students to this exciting time as they expand their circle of friendships and have opportunities to mature mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Students will get to know their classmates while enjoying all Camp Carl has to offer – swimming, horseback riding, rock climbing, team building, and more. This retreat is an opportunity for students to build relationships with each other and teachers and grow in their relationship with the Lord through chapels, devotionals, sharing, and time around the campfire. We appreciate your prayers and ask that the Lord will work in these young lives.

DATE AND TIME

• Please accompany your student (with his/her packed items) through the Royals Fieldhouse entrance at CVCA on Monday, August 12.
• Students will return to school on Tuesday, August 13, at 4:00 p.m. It is important that you be there when they arrive, as your student will be excited to share their experiences with you!

REGISTER BY JULY 28

• Please register by Friday, June 28. All forms are on CVCA’s Middle School page, HERE.
• The $125 IGNITION fee will be applied toward bus transportation, lodging, four meals, evening snacks, and the use of Camp Carl’s facilities.
• Students will receive a t-shirt, which can be worn on Fridays and CVCA Spirit Days.
• Any donation you might like to make toward financial assistance for a family in need or additional expenses would be greatly appreciated since a significant portion of the IGNITION costs exceeds the fee. For donations sent in addition to the payment of $125, you will receive a receipt for your contribution.

PARENT CHAPERONE OPPORTUNITIES

There is a need for parents to serve as cabin chaperones. If you enjoy working with kids and are interested in participating, please complete the Chaperone Application, submit the Pastor Referral Form (both on the Middle School page), and return them to Brianna Jones via email by June 30. Parent chaperones must be available for an early evening meeting on Monday, August 5.

We look forward to getting to know your student as he/she enters this new and exciting time of life. We hope this adventure will serve a meaningful purpose at this time of transition and be a lot of fun!
