NETGIVER

Toro Credit Union is proud to announce our partnership with NetGiver to provide our members and non-profits with the gift of FEE-FREE GIVING. NetGiver is a donation platform that allows credit union members to give to charitable causes with zero fees to organizations or donors. Other payment platforms can charge more than 7.5% of the transaction, so charities do not receive the full amount of the donation.

When you link NetGiver to your Toro Credit Union account, you can give at any time, from any place, to any 501(c)(3) organization. Once it’s set up, you don’t have to know your account or card information – it’s ready to donate when you are.

To make a zero-fee donation to an organization you support, simply download the NetGiver App and follow these simple steps:

  • Complete the registration process.
  • Securely connect NetGiver to your Toro Checking Account.
  • Click the “Give” button to search for your charity.

If you don’t see your charity listed, we encourage you to invite the charity to NetGiver.

Discounted Extended Warranty Coverage

A vehicle is a huge investment. With all the computer and electronic parts in today’s vehicles, one mechanical repair can often cost several thousands of dollars. To keep you on the road, we have partnered with Route 66 to offer an extended warranty with benefits you don’t usually get with a warranty from a dealership. Route 66 warranties are often cheaper than dealership offerings, and there is no deductible

Plus, you can choose any certified mechanic you’d like and aren’t forced to take your car to the dealership whenever it needs repairs. The warranty is also transferable, which makes your car worth more money at resale.

Recognize business and government imposters who want your money

Scammers pretending to be from the government tell convincing stories to steal your money or personal information. But now they’re taking a new, layered approach — and here are some clues to spot it.

The scammers first say they’re with a company and contact you about a routine problem, like suspicious charges on your Amazon account, a virus on your computer, or an account breach.

The story quickly escalates: They lie and say your name is involved in serious crimes and claim the court is about to seize the money in your bank account or retirement savings. (Also a lie.)

Next, they switch from being the bearer of bad news to acting like the hero. How? By (supposedly) connecting you to someone with the government to “help” you fix the problem.

But the person they transfer you to doesn’t work for the government. And they don’t help. They want to trick you into taking cash out of your bank or retirement account and giving it to someone.

Here’s what to know about how scammers try to deceive you:
