Reminder: Scheduled Power Outage July 31-Aug.1

As part of the ongoing renovations to the steam tunnels on Idaho State University's Pocatello campus, a scheduled power outage, determined by Idaho Power, will take place in the Business Administration Building on Wednesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Power in Frazier Hall will be off all day on Thursday, August 1.

Advancement Leadership Update

Cathy Wooton has resigned as Vice President for University Advancement for personal reasons. Vice President Wooton led the Office of University Advancement for the past two years. Her expertise and depth of knowledge will have a lasting impact on the Advancement functions at Idaho State University, positioning ISU for continued success far into the future. Dr. Kandi Turley-Ames has accepted an appointment to serve as the Interim Vice President for Advancement at Idaho State University.

Reminder: New PERSI Rates Effective Aug. 2 Paycheck

Effective the August 2, 2024 paycheck, employees participating in PERSI will see an update to their PERSI contributions. 

  • Prior to the 8/2/2024 paycheck, employees have been contributing 6.71% and the employer share was 11.18%
  • Starting the 8/2/2024 paycheck, employees will contribute 7.18% and the employer share will be 11.96%

Per Idaho Statute 59-1322(5), the PERSI Board must adjust contribution rates when the fund’s amortization period exceeds 25 years.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
