2015 Icefest & Soup Cookoff Success!
Hundreds Visit Downtown Coldwater
Chamber Thanks Icefest Sponsors & Supporters!
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank and recognize everyone who helped make this year's Icefest a success.  Michigan Gas Utilities was our
premier sponsor.  Without their contribution, Icefest would not have been possible.  Thank you for giving back to the Coldwater community!

Cole-Ford-Lincoln's sponsorship made it possible for Master Carver Scott Miller of Miller Ice Sculptures to perform a live sculpture of a car out of eight large blocks of ice.  As he chiseled, sawed & torched the ice, there was a steady stream of visitors watching the live carving and taking advantage of photo ops inside the car.

We would also like to thank the Coldwater Country Conference & Visitor's Bureau for their support in marketing the event, WTBV AM 1590, the City of Coldwater, Tibbits Opera House and the ten businesses (below) who sponsored blocks of ice, allowing us to line Downtown Coldwater with beach-themed carvings and hundreds of visitors.

Highlights of the day included "yarn-bombed" trees by area knitters, a puppet show at the library, kids crafts at the Children's Museum, blank & pillow donations for the Family Promise Shelter at Culy's and great deals and giveaways throughout downtown!

Our snowball shooting contest was a BLAST!  Manny Ortiz was the proud winner of a basketball hoop donated by Wal-mart and each child received a free round of laser tag at Adventure Zone.

Last but not least, the soup cook-off drew record numbers of participants this year (see details below).

Soup Cookoff Winner Announced...

A soup cookoff was held in conjunction with this years Icefest where a record number of 176 soup samplers purchased voting cards! Participants were able to sample soup from 9 different locations and vote for their favorite.

I am pleased to announce that the 2015 people's choice winner is (drum roll please).... Jeannie's Diner for their Bean & Ham soup!  One voter noted, "It's as good as mom makes it". The winning chef receives a $50 chamber check and Jeannie's asked that their $50 be donated to the Food Pantry on their behalf!!!  Way to give back!

All soup cook-off voters were entered into a drawing for a $50 chamber check and this year's random winner is... Carrie Jones!!  Congratulations Carrie and thank you for supporting Icefest!
