More than 500 Volunteers Gather for 10th Annual Good Neighbor Day

Good Neighbor Day is a partnership between the university, the Maryland-National Capital Park and the Planning Commission and the city of College Park. More than 500 volunteers registered to help pack food, clean up streets or complete gardening projects.

After Pandemic Closed Coffee Shop, Students Get Involved

The only coffee shop in Buckner closed during the pandemic and the owners put it on the market. The Fort Osage Career and Technology Center in Independence saw an opportunity to turn coffee grounds into liquid gold for students.

24 Year Old Fixing the 'Toxic' Student Rental Market

HYBR co-founder launched an online platform that links up landlords and students, holds housemate matcher events, helps with contracts, and gives students access to legal advice. They are looking to raise £500,000 through angel investors and venture funds.

Downtown College Ambassadors Program Returns

The Downtown College Ambassadors Program, which ran its pilot session in 2019-20, is back as a formal, academic year-long initiative for 2021-22. The DCP will host 4-6 ambassadors from Wilkes University, King's College and Luzerne County Community College.

Stillwater, Like Other College Towns, Considers Census Undercount

Officials from some smaller college towns seem to have faced greater than normal challenges getting a complete count in the 2020 U.S. Census when students left campus in response to the pandemic right before the count took place.
