Tuition and Faculty Salaries
Two Big Decisions for '23
This week two ISCA members brought up their board's concern with inflation and what they should do about tuition setting for next year and faculty/staff salaries. On the tuition side, there are growing concerns about families' ability to pay and absorb tuition increases during this period of inflation. On the faculty/staff salary side, boards are feeling pressured to increase salaries to more closely match inflation increases and try to retain good faculty and staff.
While every school needs to do their own analysis of the economic conditions in their community and what impact that may have on student families and faculty/staff, I am going to share some trend data from NAIS DASL on both median tuition increases and faculty salary increases over the past few years. It can be helpful to see big picture trends in addition to local data.
