PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello Everyone
Last Wednesday, The State Supreme Court issued their ruling on the
McCleary Case vs. State. This has been one of the top legislative priorities of our state PTA to fully fund education, and we have been waiting impatiently to see if indeed our legislature fully funded education.
Chris Reykdal, State Superintendent of
OSPI, issued this statement which has real relevance to how Bellevue School District funds our schools.
statement.
Please take time to attend the above session tonight at
Newport High School if possible. If you have been able to attend previous sessions, I am hoping you understand the
significance and impact of the funding by our property tax increase and the impact to our Bellevue levy.
Let's all be advocates for our students to provide exemplary education at IS. Sometimes this means advocating for them at the state level.
Best
Meribeth Nordloef-Pedersen
2017-2018 ISPTSA President
