IRS announces new HSA limits for 2025


The IRS has released 2025 limits, for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) for 2025. This update impacts both Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs).


Based on the cost-of-living adjustment rules, the HSA contribution limits, minimum annual deductibles, and maximum out-of-pocket amounts will increase. The HSA catch-up contribution amount will remain the same as last year.

 

2025 HSA contribution limits

Individual: $4,300

Family: $8,550

 

2025 HDHP minimum annual deductibles

Individual: $1,650

Family: $3,300

 

2025 HDHP maximum out-of-pocket amounts

Individual: $8,300

Family: $16,600

 

2025 HSA catch-up contribution amount (same as last year) For members who reach age 55 by December 31, 2025, the catch-up amount is $1,000.
