IRS Releases 2025 HSA and HDHP Limits
On May 9, 2024, the IRS released Rev. Proc. 2024-25 outlining the 2025 inflation-adjusted contribution and related amount limits imposed by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for health savings accounts (HSAs) and HSA-compatible high-deductible health plans (HDHP).
Annual HSA contribution maximum
- $4,300 for single coverage (a $150 increase from $4,150 in 2024)
- $8,550 for family coverage (a $250 increase from $8,300 in 2024)
Annual catch-up contribution maximum
The IRS has not yet released the 2025 catch-up contribution limit for savers age 55 and older. It currently remains unchanged at $1,000.
HDHP minimum deductible
- $1,650 for single coverage (a $50 increase from $1,600 in 2024)
- $3,300 for family coverage (a $100 increase from $3,200 in 2024)
Maximum HDHP out-of-pocket
- $8,300 for single coverage (a $250 increase from $8,050 in 2024)
- $16,600 for family coverage (a $500 increase from $16,100 in 2024)
