IRMA Notification:
Temporary Delay in Monthly Deductible Billing
|
We recently went through a software conversion to upgrade our financial software due to server limitations. While the new software offers a lot of new benefits, the initial conversion resulted in delays in getting members our February and March billings. As a part of this process, many adjustments had to be made to the billing documents, which took time. As a reminder, if a payment wasn’t received by the end of the billing date, the payment will not be reflected on the next statement. The statement only reflects past due balances along with any activity from that month (i.e., if a payment for a January deductible is received March 14th, it will reflect on the March billing statement). This process was also in place with our previous software, so the billing process has not changed. As with any conversion, some of the prior billing does not include detailed descriptions. Members will see better descriptions on the billing statements with the new software, which should be helpful. If you have any questions on the updated format or billing inquiries, please reach out to Shaakira Richmond (shaakirar@irmarisk.org) or Ashli Boss (ashlib@irmarisk.org).

Public Works Training Hub
IRMA provides many training opportunities through its membership services; however, it cannot serve as the sole source of training to its members. Employers are responsible to ensure all employees are appropriately trained for their position.
In partnership with the Public Works Steering Committee, resources have been consolidated into a one-stop shop for all departments. The webpage features:
- Department networking through a communication board
- An interactive map of all IRMA Public Works Departments
- Third-party vendor training, assessment, and risk management agencies
- Annual training plan resources and customizable templates
Training is invaluable at improving employee and public safety.

Lead Reclamation and Recycling at Firing Ranges
Some of the biggest contributing industries, such as mining, demolition, construction, and manufacturing, are well-known, but there’s also a potential lead contributor that’s mostly overlooked: the firing ranges. Bullets are usually either pure lead or made up of lead alloys.
