IRCC Members Celebrate U.S. Marine Corps 248th Birthday

The United States Marine Corps celebrated its 248th birthday on November 10 with a glittering evening. 221 attendees enjoyed music, toasts, dinner and dancing. The traditional cutting of the cake, saw the first piece presented to the oldest Marine in attendance, Dr. Tuck Craven. He, in turn, presented it to the youngest Marine in attendance, Pete Todsen. IRCC Car Club Cruise

On Monday, November 13th, the IRCC Car Club cruised the community for all to see, after enjoying a hot dog lunch at the 19th Hole Lounge. There was a wide variety of some very nice vehicles--classics, antiques, muscle, and sport. Thanks to the owners for showing off your rides! We're looking forward to the next cruise!

Florida's Space Coast - Great American Defense Communities

Did you know that the Space Coast is one of just five recently named Great American Defense Communities for 2022? According to the April 6 press release from Washington, D.C. –

Florida’s Space Coast, home to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, is one of five communities across the country named to the 2022 Class of Great American Defense Communities.

The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities in conjunction with USAA, the program’s official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit earlier this month. The 2022 class also includes West Valley Partners, Ariz., Tullahoma, Tenn., Antelope Valley, Calif., and Northern Virginia.

“Our military needs America’s defense communities to support them,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “We selected Florida’s Space Coast because they are a region that consistently goes above and beyond to support service members, veterans, and military families living in their community.”

U.S. News & World Report Ranks Melbourne #12 in The Best Places to Retire in the U.S. in 2022-2023:

Melbourne, Florida is once again a winner on the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report list of Best Places to Retire -- coming in at #12. They analyzed 150 largest metro areas in the United States to find the best places to live based on quality of life, the value of living there and people's desire to live there. Nice!
