Ramon Ray spoke about effective leadership and management of human resources.

Navigate Digital Disruption with Nandan Nikelani


Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Co- Founder and Chairman, Infosys gave a presentation on the challenges faced in the introduction of India’s biometric identification system, Adhaar. Mr. Nilekani also participated in a panel discussion after the presentation on issued related to navigating the Digital Disruption. Acting Consul General and (Consul Trade) attended the presentation.

Tata Sons Private Limited is the holding company of the Tata Group, which is one of the largest India-headquartered multinationals in North America, with 13 companies and 35,000+ employees. Prominent among them being Tata Consultancy Services, Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Communications, Tata Technologies and Tata Steel.

Ajay Banga Named top ethnic minority executive in the world

Indian American CEO of Mastercard, Ajay Banga has been named the top ethnic minority executive in the world. The “EMpower Ethnic Minority Role Model” list also includes a number of Indian American executives, besides Mr. Banga. The annual ranking of ethnic minority role models in business list by Empower is released by diversity and inclusion network, Involve, which is a membership organization that champions diversity and inclusion in business.

5th International Day of Yoga  



Consulate General of India in collaboration with Friends of Yoga celebrated the 5th International Day of Yoga on June 23rd, 2019 at Fair Bridge Hotel & Conference Center, New Jersey. Over 2000 Yoga enthusiasts joined this grand celebration. World’s oldest Yoga instructor and practitioner Padma Shree Ms. Tao Porchon Lynch demonstrated some Yoga Asanas at the event.

Mr. Vikas Khanna, celebrity chef and film maker spoke at the event. Motivational Speaker Mr. Gaur Gopal Das also spoke to the audience about the importance of Yoga. Assemblyman Mr. Daniel R. Bensen, New Jersey, Mr. Philip Kramer, Mayor, Franklin Township, New Jersey, Mr. Rajiv Prasad, Councilman At-Large, Franklin Township, New Jersey and Ms. Crystal Pruitt, Council woman At-Large, Franklin Township, New Jersey also attended the IDY 2019 celebration.

More than 30 organizations participated with the Consulate in the celebration of International Day of Yoga 2019. More than 15,000 people participated in the various Yoga day Celebration this year.

Panel Discussion on Economic Priorities for the New Government

Consulate General of India, New York in partnership with Deepak & Neera Raj Center on Indian Economic Policies and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conducted a panel discussion on Economic Priorities for the New Government and various issues on Economic policies, business & trade were discussed.

The keynote address was by Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Prof. of Indian Political Economy, Columbia University. The other speakers included Charles R Kaye, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Warburg Pincus, Krishna Memani, Vice Chairman, Investments, Invesco. The discussion was moderated by Seema Mody, CNBC.

Dr. Panagriya spoke about key reform focus areas for the Government. He spoke about education reforms being priority for the Government. He also said that disinvestment process is likely to be expedited. Mr. Chip Kaye spoke about continuity in reforms process in India. Mr. Krishna Memani gave investors’ view point on economic priorities for the Government.

India at Summer Fancy Food Show in NY

The 65th Summer Fancy Food Show was held from June 23-25, 2019 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York. The India Pavilion was set up by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) along with Spices Board, Coffee Board of India and Markfed India and met with the Indian exporters.

A buyer Seller meet and one-on-one meetings were organized with US Importers for the Spices Board and Coffee Board of India with the Association of Food Industries, Star Kosher Certification and Janam Tea for the promotion of export of Indian Spices and Coffee. 






A presentation by Registrar Corp:
Ms. Coley Anderson, Industry & Government Relations Director, Registrar Corp addressed delegates from ITPO, APEDA, Spices Board and Coffee Board along with Indian exporters on US FDA, Regulatory Compliance issues for U.S. and Non-U.S. Companies in the food, beverage, and dietary supplement sectors.
