IMAGINE_BGKY HACKATHON

We are excited to share the success of the first Imagine_BGKY Hackathon, hosted at Western Kentucky University's Innovation Campus this past Saturday. The event saw a fantastic turnout and provided an enriching experience for everyone involved. Be on the lookout as another 2nd Hackathon will be happening later on this year.

SPARKS SUMMIT - WCPS

The Innovation Campus was honored to host the Warren County Public Schools inaugural SPARKS SUMMIT - entrepreneurship competition a few weeks ago. A shout out to Jeremy Jacobs, Nessa Unseld, Andrew Swanson and Jaron Jaggers for joining us to judge the projects.


From WBKO - The school district teamed up with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and WKU’s Innovation Campus to host The Spark Summit.


High school students from across the Warren County Public Schools district pitched business proposals to a panel of judges made up of members of the Innovation Campus and the Chamber of Commerce.


“These students have been taking an entrepreneurship class all year long, coupled with a computer science class,” explained Daryl Woods, Director of Secondary Instruction for WCPS district. “Their job this year has been to create a business idea to present in hopes of possibly moving forward with founding the company and making money on their own.”

From Doppler EOC - Josh Durkee, Ph.D.- We are proud to announce the next stage of innovation with the announcement of our new commercial business, Doppler Emergency Operations Consultants, or Doppler EOC!


Doppler EOC brings together professional meteorological and emergency management services for boutique, customized support for major events, facilities, and projects. Doppler EOC is the latest addition to the Western Kentucky University Innovation Campus and serves various efforts across Bowling Green, Ky and Warren County, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, while extending its reach across the nation into multiple sectors of business.


Students at Western Kentucky University will now have an additional resource for professional workforce development and experience, while Doppler EOC provides a host of solutions to businesses and event coordinators seeking advanced weather and emergency management-related aid to protect assets, drive profits, and maintain reputable outcomes.

WELCOME EMMA BUNCH

Western Kentucky University student entrepreneur Emma Bunch transferred to WKU from Harvard University this semester to make her home, and her company’s home, in Bowling Green. The Barren County native found CREATE at WKU Innovation Campus: Central Region Ecosystem for Arts, Technology, and Entrepreneurship via the KY Innovation website after settling into Bowling Green and is now plugged into the region’s innovation ecosystem, including finding a new home for her company at the WKU Innovation Campus Collaborative SmartSpace.
