It is with great sadness that NAC reports the passing of highly esteemed, long-time public servant Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-D).
Of special note for ATM Nation, Congressman Payne introduced The Payment Choice Act (PCA), groundbreaking federal legislation requiring cash acceptance at retail throughout the US. The PCA garnered broad public support, which led to recent bipartisan passage twice in the US House of Representatives.
Congressman Payne has served as a true champion in Washington on behalf of cash and America's ATM entrepreneurs, for which we are eternally grateful. Mr. Payne will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by ATM Nation and the many colleagues and constituents privileged to know and work with him.
Thank you Congressman Payne for your exemplary public service and a life well lived.
