Second Semester Events
LEAD students have had several opportunities to network and test their learned skills in SoCents Networking Fair, cardboard boat testing, and IMPACTs Professional Panel. Students learned about entrepreneurship and data science from external professionals in the field and had an opportunity to further their understanding by asking questions and solving problems faced in the field. We look forward to taking selected EnAct students to Springfield soon.

Safe Medication Usage
The Health Office is working to educate students on safe medication usage and practice, including prescription, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbs, and supplements. Each month, I will put a few medication safety tips in the newsletter for you to use in conversations with your students. The goal is to help students understand the importance of medication safety and encourage them to be independent in their health care. This is the final set of medication tips in the series.
Tip #13 - Monkey see, Monkey do - Herbal products can cause side effects or interfere with other medications and medical procedures. Some herbs, such as echinacea, used to boost the immune system can do the opposite if used in excess. Discuss all herbal supplements with your healthcare provider before taking them.
