REFLECTION

"You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens."
--Ethel Barrymore

Holly Atwood President 2010/2011

The End of the Year is HERE!

The end is here, or at least the last meeting of the year.  We're having a family orientated event and a chance to see some talented local athletes at a Thunder Bay Border Cats Game! Let's hope for some sunshine!

This year as president of the organization, I have been presented with opportunities to participate in things that I would not have otherwise.  Such as the dialogues on Echo: improving women's health in Ontario; Participating in the Women's Reference Group discussions at the Workforce Planning Board; Group Engagement Forums for the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Strategic Plan. And tickets to opening night at Magnus were a definite plus. As always, I regret not contributing enough to the direction and future of the Thunder Bay Business Women's Network.

Moving forward to next year, we have three new board members that I hope everyone will have a chance to get to know over the next year! Welcome Lucy Belanger, Rose Drewek and Sylvia Gomez! Sadly we will lose three board members who have dedicated a lot of time and energy to this organization over the years. Shirley Lake, Deborah Poole - Hoffman, and Daryl Lein. I thank them for all they have done to make this a successful year.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

A veteran stand-up performer, she got her start at various comedy clubs across Canada, and over the years performed with many leading comedy acts including Ray Romano and Ellen Degeneres. As a health care professional she recognized that there was a place for humour in the corporate setting. And so she decided to combine her talents as a comic with her workplace experience to inspire people to improve communication, deal with stress, achieve better balance in their lives while establishing a healthy workplace and homelife.
