Talc Update

BREAKING NEWS! The United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed Johnson &Johnson’s (“J&J”) controversial bankruptcy petition, finding that the company was not a debtor in “financial distress when it sought Chapter 11 protection.” This long-awaited decision comes after many months of J&J’s attempt to bypass the court system in order to gain a financial and litigation advantage. J&J has stated that the company will appeal the Third Circuit’s decision. While this appeal is pending, all litigation against J&J and LTL Management remains stayed. In the meantime, The Smith Law Firm is prepared to proceed with its talcum powder litigation once the stay is lifted, assuming J&J’s appeal is unsuccessful. We stand ready to fight for you and will continue working towards resolving your claim. Full update.

Paraquat Update

Exposure to the dangerous herbicide Paraquat can cause Parkinson's Disease. We understand the difficulties our clients with Parkinson’s Disease face, and are working hard on your case. We recently mailed you a case update letter. If you do not receive this update letter by the end of March, please reach out to our office to ensure we have your correct contact information. We are at the mercy of the court as to the speed with which your case will move through the legal system. The first Paraquat trial is set for October 2023. Therefore, we will likely not have other substantive updates until that time. The litigation process is slow, but we are ready for the fight and appreciate the opportunity to seek justice for our clients harmed by Paraquat exposure.

Roundup Update

The Smith Law Firm has already recovered millions of dollars on behalf of its clients affected by Roundup. Science shows that exposure to Roundup can cause Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, as well as other types of lymphoma. We are committed to achieving the best outcome for our clients who have suffered because of Monsanto’s failure to warn consumers about the dangers of its weedkiller.
