Dear League/Club Representative,

It has been brought to our attention that some player accounts in GotSport do not have a parent login account attached to them. Typically when a player is added into GotSport they are required to have a Parent First Name, Parent Last Name, and Parent Email attached to their profile so that a parent login account can be created. After speaking with GotSport, MSYSA has learned that due to some issues with the GotSport system, this is not always the case, and there are a number of players missing this information.

Due to the effect this has on completing the ITC Questionnaire in GotSport, MSYSA is turning off the roster rule enforcement that prevented players from being added to rosters without the questionnaire being completed. The questionnaire will still show up as a requirement for players, however, creating rosters for the Fall season will not be impacted.

Despite the settings being adjusted, the mandate from FIFA and US Soccer has not changed. All MSYSA direct member scheduling leagues, clubs and affiliated clubs are required to have players 10 years of age and older who were born outside of the United States, or who have registered and played soccer outside of the U.S. and are now returning, obtain ITC before they are eligible to participate in league play. This mandate applies to ALL players, including recreational. We also highly recommend you identify any players under 10 years old who may need ITC in the future as the process to obtain ITC under 10 years old is much easier.

It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that all FIFA requirements are being followed. For additional information on what an International Transfer Clearance is, please review our communication from June 4, and also the ITC page on our website.

MSYSA still strongly encourages clubs to utilize the ITC Questionnaire for as many players as you can in GotSport as this is the most effective way to determine which of your players require ITC. Over the coming weeks, MSYSA will work with club admins to determine alternative ways the club can verify ITC necessity if families are struggling to access GotSport. Once determined, these alternative verification suggestions will be communicated out to everyone.
