Awakened Awareness Wellness Workshop
Get paid to learn spiritual practices
Want to deepen your spiritual practices while reducing stress, anxiety, and/or depression? Want to get paid $35 for doing so? Come learn more about Awakened Awareness, a new 8-week wellness workshop co-sponsored by the Office of Spiritual Life. Orientation is TODAY from 4:15-5pm in the Gregg Pavilion.
Explore mindfulness and meditation, stress reduction, self-awareness, finding meaning, spirituality, and healthy relationships. Each 90 minute workshop includes meditations, an introduction to Awakened Awareness concepts, and sharing reflections. This wellness workshop is adaptable for all, regardless of spiritual/religious affiliation or non-affiliation.
Lewis & Clark undergrads are invited to join one of two cohorts that will gather in the Gregg Pavilion:
Monday Cohort meets from 3:30-5pm and begins Sept. 19 (no workshop on Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 26.)
Thursday Cohort meets from 3:30-5pm and begins Sept. 22 (no workshop on Oct. Fall Break, Oct. 6.)
Groups will be no larger than 20 students.
Awakened Awareness was developed by Dr. Lisa Miller from the Spirituality Mind Body Institute, Teachers College, Columbia. Pilot studies from students participating in Awakened Awareness at Barnard and Columbia showed their rates of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress decreased after taking the 8-week workshop.
