Portland Tennis & Education Seeking Volunteers

Currently, we are seeking volunteers for our after school program. We aim to kick off our elementary school program starting September 19th. However, this is dependent on making sure we have enough hands on deck to safely run our programs. While we can always use more hands on the tennis court, our biggest priority is having volunteers who are willing to provide homework help, and support facilitation of educational and enrichment activities. As we hope you’ve experienced in the past year, this is a fun and meaningful way to impact the lives of Portland youth and support the mission of PT&E.

Our after-school program runs Monday through Thursday from 2:45pm - 5:45pm, following the Portland Public Schools academic calendar. We ask volunteers to commit to the full 3-hour day of programming on a regular basis, ideally 1 day a week for our 11 week term. Additionally, all volunteers are required to pass a background check and attend a brief training on your role across academics, tennis, and mentoring.

Our door is always open!

If you want to meet with us or need a place to study, come to the IME Office on the 3rd floor of Templeton.
