SAFETY BOOTS
Installation Instructions:
Read and follow the manufacturer's specifications for installation.
Follow the correct fastener specifications for the type of subfloor material.
Proper Installation Sequence:
Assembling posts
Placing posts into the ‘Safety Boot’
Anchoring posts to surface with correct fasteners (depending on subfloor material) and using the provided washers ***
NEVER USE NAILS***
Fasten rails to posts and insert toeboard (if needed)
Specifications:
Each boot should have two (2) (2x4) lumber cut into 42 inch lengths.
Fasten lengths together to form a post
Fasten ‘Safety Boot’ to post using one Hex-Head Lag Screw 3/8” with provided washer.
Maximum distance between posts must not exceed eight (8) feet.
Securely fasten ‘Safety Boots’ to surface using specified fasteners and provided washers (see installation manual)
NEVER USE NAILS
Fasten top rails and mid rails to posts and insert toeboards (if needed)
Inspections:
Perform routine inspections to ensure the guardrail system is in compliance with OSHA’s Subpart M 1926.502(b)
