EASTER
Flowers will not be curtailed.
When the center seed-soul senses "now"
green will grow through ground
whatever the weather.
So, come April, when the sun speaks,
daffodils debut and dance with any wind
however cold the caress,
glad to be flags of freedom from the
winter's weight.
Hope is the same.
Enduring the nourishing night,
it yet yearns for day and

grasps the first, glowing glimpse of light, saving itself,
once again, with little two-step trust in
desire and grace.
So, Easter comes.
Balancing across our winter's wait,
centering suffering to
green seed signaling "now"
to rise in spite of cold,
to risk the growing wind,
to dance with whatever comes along,
trusting grace,
to resurrect desire and be glad.
