VICE PRESIDENT OF AMERICAS
Nominations due on June 1, 2022
This is the call for nominations for a four-year term for the position of IFHE Vice
President of Americas. The current term of office will be completed at the Region of
Americas Meeting at the IFHE 2022 Congress in Atlanta, GA, USA. The election for
this position will be held at that meeting on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
This is an opportunity for IFHE members of the Region of Americas to become more
involved with IFHE and make a meaningful contribution to the organization. With
most of the meetings and communication conducted virtually since the COVID-19
pandemic, the ability to participate in the leadership of the organization is more
widely available to all members of the Region.
The Vice President of Americas is a member of the IFHE Executive Committee. The
Executive Committee shall be responsible for the implementation of the objectives
of the Federation. Its task includes in particular:
Discussing trends and identifying opportunities for IFHE
The preparation of the Meetings of the Council
Preparing decisions which fall into the Council’s responsibility. This basically
concerns all decisions which require amendments to the Constitution or Rules
of Procedure such as the structure of the federation, membership fees, and
election procedures
Adopting the budget set up by the Treasurer for submission to the Council
Monitoring and approving preparation of Congresses (the groundwork is done
by a Congress Committee which consists of host representatives and EC
members)
Approving endorsement of resolutions
Approving employment contracts
The EC can also establish working/groups on specific topics as advisory bodies to
support them with their duties (such as Council Committees and Programme
Committees)
Nominations:
Any candidate for the Vice President of Americas must be a member of a Member
Organization of IFHE or an Individual Member of the Region which includes the
countries of Canada, USA, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South
America.
To nominate an individual to serve in this role or to self-nominate for consideration
on the election ballot, the following criteria is requested:
A short resume that includes:
Name
Complete Address including telephone numbers, email address and fax if
available
Current Employment
Date of Birth
Nationality
Language
Education
Professional Experiences
IFHE Involvement
Involvement in other professional, civic or service organizations
Two signatures supporting the nomination from the nominee’s proposing
Member Organization and the nominee’s supporting organization
A signed statement that includes the nominee’s understanding that the term
of office is until the IFHE 2026 Congress and that the nominee understands
that the nominee takes responsibility for securing the support needed and the
funds necessary for carrying out the responsibilities of the office including
travel and communication.

June 1, 2022. If there are any questions about the nominations process, they may
be directed to Sue.
Once the nominations have been submitted, the Nominating Committee will review
the applications and determine a slate for the elections. As mentioned previously,
the election will occur at the Region of Americas Meeting at the IFHE 2022 World
Congress on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The successful candidate will assume
office at the conclusion of the Congress for a four-year term.
