usvaa is honored to be part of
IF ALL THE SKY WERE PAPER
at the Kirk Douglas Theatre
presented by Lexikat Artists and
Chapman University

Dear Friends of USVAA, fellow veterans and artists:

With your support USVAA has accomplished great things in the last two years. Among our more noted events were our productions of TRACERS and THE LONG WAY HOME: Reflections on the TRACERS Journey.

We will be incredibly busy over the next year as we present a series of productions and events highlighting veterans in the arts and the entertainment industry. Needless to say, we will be doing everything we can to create new opportunities for everyone we work with to display their talents and we ask you to join us in this effort.

The first event on our calendar is a production of IF ALL THE SKY WERE PAPER, written by Andrew Carroll. The production is based upon his New York Times bestselling books War Letters and Behind the Lines and is directed by John Benitz. The one-night-only performance is at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, at 7:30 pm, Monday, June 9th, 2014.

IF ALL THE SKY WERE PAPER features powerful performances by Lorna Duyn, Laura Dern, Jim Beaver, Christopher Sweeney, Sandra Seacat, Gary Cole, Dear Abby, Kate Mansi, Ken Howard, Thurn Hoffman and many others as they bring battlefront letters from military men and women and their loved ones to life by acting out the full spectrum of emotions and experiences contained in their letters.

From the incredible drama of battle to the pathos and humor of everyday life audiences will be moved by the correspondence of those caught up in the American Revolution, Civil War, World Wars I and II, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

"These war letters are more deeply moving, more revelatory, and more powerful that any dispatch from the front. It's the truly felt history of what war is all about." - Studs Terkel
