Nearshoring - Foreign Investment in MX

Tuesday, August 20th, 2024

10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Nearshoring is a phenomenon expected to continue driving significant growth into Mexico. This surge in FDI has resulted in a large number of companies considering relocating their business to Mexico for various reasons, inclusive of the proximity to the United States and Canada. The labor costs are relatively low, the benefits available under IMMEX (maquiladora) program are substantial, and the preferential treatment to originating goods and the protection of foreign investments under the USMCA is attractive, among other factors such as in the case of avoiding tariffs on imports originating from China.

Nonetheless, some companies remain uncertain and have expressed their concern regarding the recently elected government in Mexico, and question whether it will protect the rule of law and the foreign investment provisions under the USMCA.

Join us in this webinar where the speakers will present to you the current environment in Mexico along with the legal provisions governing foreign investment in Mexico.

We will cover the legal implications which will help you make informed decisions and be prepared to legally protect your business.

We are taking questions in advance of the webinar. Please forward to elisabethicpa@gmail.com
