CHRONO STAGE FOR REGIONALS

+

REVISED RULE BOOK

Chronograph is a stage. We took the thinking out of it for Match Directors, especially for Regional/IRC, and we added a standardized, written stage briefing to be used for any match with a Chrono stage. It's easy for Match Directors to grab the file (located with the classifiers) and add it to the rest of your match stages.

The February 2024 Rule Book revision includes reference to the chronograph stage that all Match Directors will use.

CHRONOGRAPH STAGE
RULE BOOK (Revs Jan + Feb)

ARE YOU EITHER OF THESE TWO SRCs?

LAW ENFORCEMENT / ER PROVIDER (LEER)

or MILITARY (MIL)

This notice is for members who, as defined in the current Rule Book, may rightfully claim Military or LEER as a Special Recognition Category (SRC).

Members who have applicable credentials as defined in Section "3.1.6. Military" and "3.1.7. Law Enforcement / ER Provider" may provide one-time proof of those by sending a copy to the Rules Director. The member's record will be marked as CONFIRMED for "Military" or "LEER", and the competitor will not have to show further proof at a Regional or IRC. See sample record above.

Background

It has always been the responsibility of the Regional Championship Match Director (MD) to check for current membership, correct Division, and correct Special Recognition Categories. It just doesn't always happen, because we all want to believe in the honor system. But MDs absolutely are responsible for checking. It may be at match registration, or at check-in, or even at the chrono stage.

While we want to know that all SRCs and Divisions are correctly claimed by competitors, Military and LEER continue to be the problems. Out of respect for ICORE members who absolutely possess these credentials, we want to ensure that recognition and cash awards are credited to the rightful recipient.

Solution for the Match Director (or Designee) at the Match

On the website Membership page, any Match Director can quickly check any member by searching with the last name or member number. The member's record will already be marked as CONFIRMED for anyone who has already sent proof of the Military or LEER credentials to the Rules Director. If the member's online record does not show CONFIRMED for Military or LEER, then the Match Director must ask for proof from the competitor who selected Military or LEER categories.

LEER and Military Members -- What Do You Need to Do?

Military and LEER are specifically defined in the Rule Book. Make it easy NOW for the upcoming Regional/IRC Match Directors. Take advantage of sending one-time proof to the Rules Director now so that your online member record reflects your Mil/LEER status. Attach a copy to an e-mail and send. E-mails will be discarded after the member's record has been marked for Mil or LEER. (NOTE: Member records from 2023 IRC are already marked.)

CLASSIFIER CONTEST

Looking to add a couple of classifiers to the collection. Submittals don't have to be beautiful, but they need to be complete, including written instructions and a stage diagram with dimensions. Prizes to the winning member(s).

TIP: Use a current Limited and Unlimited classifier from the website Classifier page as examples of what the written description must contain. No NRA AP-1 targets. No all-steel. Limit dimensions to no more than 40' depth and 24' width so that they are useable by the indoor clubs. Send by April 30, 2024, to the Rules Director, who reserves the right to tweak as necessary!
